Title:	The Participation of Zapatistas Women and Territory from the Approach of Feminist Political Ecology La participación de las mujeres zapatistas y el territorio desde el enfoque de ecología política feminista

Description:	Zapatismo is a social movement on which there is an extensive literature, mainly focused on the gender issue. However, analyzes of the territory from the perspective of feminist political ecology are uncommon. Therefore, this research combined this approach and a qualitative methodology to meet the following objectives: (a) Describe the participation of Zapatista women in a Zapatista Autonomous Rebel Municipality (MAREZ), (b) Analyze their proposal for an ecologically viable livelihoods, (c) Investigate access to the territory and its control for women based on Zapatista autonomy. The outcomes suggest that there are advances, contradictions, and challenges in the participation of women. The Zapatistas build territories from rivers, gardens, acahuales, and mountains, whose access and control are influenced by gender roles and, therefore, women seek to transform. For instance, agroecological options achieved the ecologically viable livelihoods and have changed gender relationships in the study communities. In conclusion, the construction of the Zapatista territories is in dispute with other actors and has made it possible to promote the participation of women in this process. El zapatismo es un movimiento social sobre el que existe una extensa literatura, en particular enfocada en el tema de género. Sin embargo, son escazos los análisis acerca del territorio desde la perspectiva de ecología política feminista. Por lo anterior, se utilizó este enfoque  y una metodología cualitativa para cumplir los siguientes objetivos: (a) describir la participación de las mujeres zapatistas en un Municipio Autónomo Rebelde Zapatista (MAREZ) desde dicha perspectiva; (b) analizar su propuesta de vida ecológicamente viable; (c) indagar sobre el acceso al territorio y su control para las mujeres a partir de la autonomía zapatista. Los resultados sugieren que existen avances, contradicciones y retos en la participación de las mujeres. Los zapatistas construyen territorios a partir de los ríos, huertos, acahuales y montañas, cuyo acceso y control están influenciados por los roles de género y, por tanto, que las mujeres buscan transformar. Por ejemplo, las opciones agroecológicas concretan las formas de vida ecológicamente viables y han cambiado las relaciones de género en las comunidades de estudio. En conclusion, la construcción de los territoritorios zapatistas, que involucra a las mujeres, están en disputas con otros actores, lo que ha impulsado su participación en este proceso de autonomía
