Description:	The current article capitalizes on sociocultural history contributions as regards to unravel the meanings of a particular case: the performance of women teachers in moments of strikes and claims. We position ourselves in a bounded localregional reality: the town of Firmat in Santa Fe, Argentina. In these terms, the journalistic speeches of Santa Fe press are discussed attentive to the groups of women on strike: they supported them, but mostly sought to destabilize them however,by means of a pendular game, the teachers will use this to spread a rumor as a tactic of empowerment. The purpose: delegitimize and discredit those who accused them for their actions. El presente artículo capitaliza los aportes de la historia social en perspectiva de género para destejer las tramas de sentidos en torno a un caso en particular: el desempeño de las mujeres del magisterio en los momentos de huelga y reclamos. Para ello, nos posicionamos en una realidad local-regional acotada: la localidad de Firmat, provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina. En esta clave, se analizarán los discursos periodísticos de la prensa santafesina atentos a los movimientos de mujeres en huelga, los cuales las apoyaron pero en su mayoríabuscaron desestabilizarlas. Sin embargo, mediante un juego pendular, las maestras utilizarán esa misma herramienta para la difusión de un rumor como táctica de empoderamiento. La finalidad: deslegitimar a quienes las acusan por su accionar.
