This work presents some reflections on the effects of the mass production of popular consumer objects related to the icon of Frida Kahlo. Graphic design is taken as a basis, seen as a tool that provides status, prestige or identity, which in this case transcends that of Mexicanness and extends to the global sphere. The process is analyzed from the concepts of transtextuality, transculturality and transmediality, which allow identifying the insertion of the icon in all current communication media, as well as its adaptation to different cultures. The importance of graphic design as a promoter of identity is highlighted, for which the theory of the imaginary and canonical discourses that give a sense of belonging are used. The subject is extensive, so only some considerations are exposed in this regard.en-US
