dc.descriptionEste trabajo discute la importancia de un documento cartográfico del siglo XVI con influencias de los códices mesoamericanos que muestra la transformación de un territorio caracterizado por la resistencia indígena y sus prácticas culturales. De igual modo se discute cómo estos aspectos fueron convertidos por los españoles en atributos negativos que justificaban su conquista a toda costa.   Palabras cave: etnohistoria, códices, cartografía, resistencia indígena, Nueva Galicia. Abstract This article explains the importance of a 16th-century cartographic document clearly influenced by Mesoamerican codices that reveals the transformation of a territory characterized by resistance on the part of indigenous peoples and their cultural practices. It then discusses how these aspects were transformed by the Spanish into negative attributes so as to justify a conquest at any cost.
