dc.description	El presente trabajo propone una lectura comparada de los procesos de colonización de América Latina, centrándose en las diferencias entre portugueses y españoles, durante la construcción de la modernidad latinoamericana en el siglo XVI. Se siguen las propuestas teóricas de Bolívar Echeverría para configurar una lectura histórica que dé cuenta de la multiplicidad del hecho moderno atendiendo tres ejes analíticos: 1) la configuración de una economía colonial; 2) las transformaciones espaciales y 3) los cambios de la vida cotidiana. Two versions of American modernity.Approaches to Hispanic and Lusitanian colonization This paper attempts to provide a comparative reading of the colonialization processes in Latin America, focusing on the differences between Portuguese and Spanish, during de construction of Latin American modernity in the 16th century. It follows the theoretical proposal of Bolivar Echeverria in order to set a historical reading that shows the multiplicity of the modern fact, heeding three analytica laxes: 1) the configuration of a colonial economy; 2) the spatial transformations; and 3) the shifts on everyday life.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.31836/lh.16.6558	es-ES
