dc.descriptionThe physical and psychological medical care of foreigners in an irregular migratory situation who have been detained by the Mexican migration authority and who are housed in migrant holding centers or temporary stays has certain deficiencies and difficulties in its effective performance. In this paper, we analyze some characteristics of medical care for foreigners within migrant holding centers, where we can measure the effectiveness of such medical care in immigration facilities, especially when they have overcrowded accommodation. We will see then, that both the medical and psychological personnel contrast in numbers with the population they have to attend to. This does not allow the provision of adequate medical and psychological services to the migrant population in detention.en-US
dc.descriptionLa atención médica física y psicológica de personas extranjeras en situación migratoria irregular que han sido detenidas por la autoridad migratoria mexicana, y que se encuentran alojadas en estaciones migratorias o estancias provisionales, tiene ciertas deficiencias y dificultades para su efectivo desempeño. En el presente trabajo, analizamos algunas características propias de la atención médica a personas extranjeras dentro de las estaciones migratorias, en donde podremos dimensionar la efectividad de dicha atención médica en los recintos migratorios sobre todo cuando éstos tienen sobrepoblación alojada. Veremos entonces, que tanto el personal médico, psicológico, contrasta en números con la población a la que tienen que atender. Lo anterior, no permite entonces que se pueda proveer de adecuados servicios médicos y psicológicos a la población migrante que se encuentra detenida.es-ES
