dc.descriptionThe facts of the case are related to the Garifuna Community "Triunfo de la Cruz" located in the department of Atlántida, Municipality of Tela, Honduras, on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. The Community is rural in nature and has approximately a population of 10,000 inhabitants. Since 1950, the State of Honduras has begun to grant title to land in favor of the Triunfo de la Cruz Community and its members. In particular, it is evident that the Garífuna Community of Triunfo de la Cruz made several applications for ownership of territories in the years 1946, 1969, 1997, 1998 and 2001. To date, a total of 615 hectares and 28.71 centiareas have been granted to date in "full domain", and 128.40 hectares as "occupation guarantee".en-US
dc.descriptionLos hechos del caso se relacionan con la Comunidad Garífuna Triunfo de la Cruz ubica da en el departamento de Atlántida, Municipalidad de Tela, Honduras, a orillas del mar Caribe. La Comunidad es de carácter rural y cuenta aproximadamente con una población de 10,000 habitantes. Desde el año 1950 el Estado de Honduras comenzó a otorgar títulos de propiedad sobre la tierra en favor de la Comunidad Triunfo de la Cruz y sus miembros. En particular, consta que la Comunidad Garífuna Triunfo de la Cruz efectuó varias solicitudes de dominio sobre territorios en los años 1946, 1969, 1997, 1998 y 2001. Hasta la actualidad, un total de 615 hectáreas y 28.71 centiáreas han sido otorgadas a la fecha en “dominio pleno”, y 128.40 hectáreas en calidad de “garantía de ocupación”.es-ES
