dc.descriptionFrom a qualitative perspective, we seek to analyze how educated indigenous that emigrated to Monterrey (capital of Nuevo León, Mexico) interpret and value, from their own ethnic identity, the audiovisual character of India María. We find that, although most of them carry out critical readings that lead them to partially reject India María because they consider it discriminatory, in most of them there is an ambivalence, reflecting an identity conflict, so they also enjoy the character and even recognize some similarities between them and the character.en-US
dc.descriptionDesde un enfoque cualitativo, buscamos analizar cómo los indígenas con estudios superiores emigrados a Monterrey (capital de Nuevo León, México) interpretan y valoran, desde su propia identidad étnica, al personaje audiovisual de la India María. Encontramos que aunque la mayoría de ellos realizan lecturas críticas que los llevan a rechazar parcialmente a la India María por considerarla una representación discriminatoria, existe en ellos una ambivalencia, de modo que también disfrutan del personaje, incluso reconociendo algunas similitudes entre ellos y este.es-ES
