Abstract: This research was conducted to compare prehydrolysis efficiency in vapor and liquid phase at different temperatures, on a mixture of six oaks using a sulphur-free pulping process. With prehydrolysis in vapor phase similar properties are obtained to those with liquid phase, and at 180 to 185 degree C acceptable properties are obtained as dissolving grade pulp.
