Abstract: Idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis is a very infrequent disorder. Adequate management is still a matter of debate. We describe the use of low-dose pulse methotrexate in treating a 63-year-old woman with idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis. A weekly scheme with subcutaneous methotrexate was tried. Clinical improvement occurred in one week. Total remission of the clinical and neuro-imaging abnormalities was evident 6 months later, with minimal side effects. The patient is in complete remission after one year of follow-up without treatment. Hence, low-dose weekly subcutaneous methotrexate may be safe and effective in inducing complete and sustained remission of this condition. The experience with subcutaneous methotrexate to treat this entity has never been reported. The aim of this study was to identify the HCV genotypes and associated risk factors in a group of HCV infected patients from the west of Mexico. Genotyping analysis was performed in 90 patients with positive anti-HCV and HCV-RNA. Genotypes 1 and 2 were found in 61 (67.8%) and 28 (31.1%) patients, respectively, and one with 4c/d genotype (1.1%). The most frequent HCV genotype was la (42.2%), followed by 1b (21.1%) and 2a/c (20%). Coinfection was present in 6.6% in a similar population with genotypes 1a and 1b or with 2a/c and 2b. The most frequent associated risk factor was blood transfusion in 57.8% of cases. The problem of partitioning an interpreted Petri net (IPN) diagnoser model into m modules is addressed; in such a manner that minimal communication among modules is guaranteed. Two main contributions cope with this problem. First the communication-dependence fault graph (CDFG) is introduced; it represents both the system faults (edges) and the measurable places associated to each fault (vertices). In the graph, two and more faults incident to a vertex v k, means that the detection and location of these faults is based on the partial output information represented by v k. The second contribution is a polynomial algorithm that exploits the CDFG to compute m diagnoser models in such a way that the number of exchanged messages is minimal. " 2011 IEEE.
