Abstract: We describe Dolichoderus tridentanodus sp. nov. collected in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico based on workers, which is placed in the lugens complex. This species can be distinguished from D. lugens by the presence of 6 teeth in the internal margin of the mandible, 2 spines on the dorsal face of the propodeum, 2 lateral projections on the petiole and 1central spine; body with abundant golden pubescence, densely and uniformly covered with coarse punctures; dark color, with yellow mandibles, clipeus, antenna and legs. This species is known for the states of Jalisco, Nayarit and San Luis Potos. We provide a key for all the species of Dolichoderus in Mexico, and data of distribution with new records for some states.
