Resumen: In recent years, fiber optics has found major applications in sensor technology. In this paper, we develop a theoretical analysis on different configurations of couples of fibers, in order to determine the optimal configuration for a position sensor, which allows us to measure displacements in the order of microns. This sensor is based on intensity modulated sensor and can be used in Scanning Electrochemical and Photoelectrochemical Microscopy for control of the tip-sample distance. Finally, we presented a novel design of a displacement sensor on the basis of this analysis.
